How do you take your kid in? Do we just call the police department and say we'd like to introduce ourselves? Also we've had not much luck with names and our kiddo. They just don't stick.

I'd call the police department and say just that, then add that you'd like to stop in one day. See what date works best for you and them, and then go. The names thing takes a long time. I'm still working on it with my son, and he's 33. He's getting better though, and so will your son!

I don’t know how you’re able to write about such a hard subject especially one that hits so close to home, but I’m really grateful you have and are.

These are things our family would never have considered so thank you.

I agree he’s being mistreated by a system that gives not one shit.

However, for as much as I don’t trust the average cop, Tamir Rice is e bad example to cite.

This kid was was running around with a toy handgun that looks like any other handgun.

When the police were dispatched, all they knew was a kid with a gun. Cops arrive, kid turns towards them, kid gets shot.

Be assured had this kid been white, headlines would have been local only.

It’s sad, but true. He was playing like any other kid and it cost him his life. His story breaks my heart.

It was the dispatcher that did NOT give the responding police information that it may be a child, may be a toy gun.

Better training needed -- all around. I think at least!
