So, we went to court today for what should have been Mr. Lucky’s last appearance before sentencing. But, it was a non-event. There's still so much paperwork that needs to be completed by the court, that we were given a continuance until July 8.
On the 8th, Mr. Lucky will enter his plea and there is a very, very slim possibility he'll also be sentenced. With the Quest Village stuff moving forward rather quickly (yes, thanks to family and their bucket loads of love for Mr. Lucky, he can go!), our attorneys and the prosecutor are going to try and make the sentencing happen that day. But, if not, it will happen sometime in September.
September.
I’m so exhausted, I could cry. And maybe I will. Later. First, I’m getting this update off to all of you, and then I’m taking a nap. A long nap.
Wake me up, as the song says, when September ends.
Thank you for taking this long, strange trip with me. I appreciate you and your many comments and emails. If you’d like to read parts 1-65, you can do so here.
I am thrilled to read that Mr. Lucky can go to Quest Village! I was really heartbroken when you wrote how expensive it is and that it might not work out. Of course it sucks that the court system is so slow, making you put your lives on hold. I think I'll join you for that nap through September. Summer was always my favorite season until menopause wrecked my internal thermostat. I cannot deal with the heat in NYC but I'm freezing in the air conditioning. Sigh. We'll make it through, we always do.
Oh, Susan, this is the MOST remarkable news, the Orlando Quest Village part. Keep your chin up. This feels like never-ending continuances and dates. Sending love and good vibes! XOXO
