Court on Good Friday, as in Tomorrow

This newsletter is coming out of order. There are pieces I’ve written that will arrive in a few days and I was going to wait to write about court tomorrow until after we got home, but I need to ask you for a favor. 

We have to be there at 8:30 a.m. It’s a simple continuance, an unexciting event where they pick a date for us to come back. But tomorrow, for the first time, the prosecutor will really be watching Mr. Happy. 

I heard today that he, the prosecutor, is looking favorably on our proposed plan, the one that would have Mr. Happy checked in on every day by one of our good friends, and enable me to go home. Yay!

Then I heard that Mr. H. should stick close to me tomorrow and look presentable (guess that rules out the Emo’s Not Dead tee shirt and ripped skinny jeans. Now I’m not sure what to wear!). He’s never not looked presentable so that speaks volumes to me. How closely will they be looking at him? Will there be a telescope involved? Christ. I’ll never get his nose that clean in time. 

Anyway, about the favor. If you’d think of us, send good thoughts, prayers if you pray, I’d really appreciate it. We’ve been to court so many times and, while at first I was frightened, I’ve gotten used to the nothingness of it all. But tomorrow will not be nothing. Tomorrow will be something. 

And we need that something to go our way.
